The Importance of a Raw Breakfast
We have all heard it 400 times before but starting off your day with a raw food breakfast is probably the most important thing you can do all day. Most experts agree that it jumps starts our metabolism and gets you started for losing weight (if you have any to lose).
However for me I get much more out of it than just my metabolism. Starting off my day with a raw chocolate smoothie (my smoothie of choice) sets me up for making good decisions throughout the rest of the day. Not only does it curb my hunger and make me feel great but from the time I am done with it until the end of the day every time I think about eating something that maybe I shouldn’t (last night I was tempted by vegan chili and a local coffee shop) I stop. I then remember that I have set my body up for optimal health for the day and eating anything less than that would be a let down to myself.
Would that vegan chili have killed me? Of course not. Its just that if I want to be as healthy as I can possibly be I know that eating 100% raw is going to be the best thing I can do for myself. I know that the chili would have tasted good but I also know that eating anything cooked makes me feel kinda sluggish and honestly…fat.
What I have for breakfast almost every morning: (I will do an exact recipe soon)
Coconut water
Maca
Cacao powder
Cacao nibs
Spirulina
Perfect Food by Garden of Life
Salt
Vanilla
Marine Phytoplankton
Spinach
Hemp Seeds
Agave (thinking about changing this to Xylitol)
Ice
I add it all the the blender and YUMMM.

The coconut crystals from Coconut Secret make an awesome brown sugar type sweetener. I’m getting away from agave too.
That is good info Kim. Heard anything negative about them?
hi wats your myspace page
I actually dont have one that I use very often. Are you and others still using it very much? I think I just heard that FaceBook was taking over all comments on MS. Is that true?
I am using the Agave, I dont no if i would use xylitol. It is a sugar alchohol. I thought agave was natural it say organic. Have you tried Stevia? It may be less harmful thean the xylitol that is also a laxative.
David,
I agree. There are a ton of studies that show it isnt that great for you. So what? The same thing with cacao? Do I believe them? Probably and I am trying to cut back. Many things can be organic that I wouldn’t eat so dont let that fool you.
I have tried all the sweeteners out there. I only use agave now for smoothies and I use very little but what I do use is a ton less that what it would require for me to get the same sweetness with xylitol or stevia
I started using Agave and it taste great. Is there any reason why you are letting it go? I really dont know any thing about it, except it does’nt raise my sugar levels
