Thanks Kim!

That sounds AWESOME. I cant wait to try it.

That is a really great idea. I find that the #1 reason I dont have a smoothies in the morning is just what you said...time.

I sadly have almost given up on coconut water. I am hearing rumors of the fresh coconuts being dipped in formaldehyde to preserve them and that is leaking to the meat and water. The only other choice is pasteurized boxed water for me. I guess it is time for me to move to the beach! :)

I really like your blog ;P

My fave smoothie:

Lots of spinach
Organic berries
Dollop of raw honey
Big dollop of almond butter
acai powder
Raw Cacao
Pinch of sunfire salt
Coconut Water

It's better than a SAD Almond Joy. Also, I have a hectic schedule. I've lied to myself and said I would get up early many times just to make my smoothie and never do when it comes to it in the morning. So I started making my smoothie in the blender the night before and I just put everything in the blender ready to go but the coconut water. Then in the morning I grab the blender and add the coconut water and blend. It saves a ton of time and it is easier to work into my schedule. Plus it is nice and cold that way.

To be honest my only drawback to jumping in is that I and my wife only get paid once per month and we had our refrigerator filled and our pockets empty LOL. So we kind of have to not waste what we already bought. But I go on vacation for 14 days first of October, so we are going 100% raw in about 5 days. we are going to fill up the fridge and cabinets with raw fruits and nuts. It did not dawn on me to season the nuts and seeds myself; I will do just that thank you.

Congrats David...

That works for some people. I personally just went cold turkey. I dont have that kind of will power.

The juicing is great. Check out a recipe I have on here for my dressing: http://raw-food-diet.com/recipes/my-favorite-salad-and-raw-dressing/

Take it and dip any veggies you want in it...SO good.

Tell me this...what is keeping you from going 100%? Is there something holding you back? Something you dont want to let go of just yet? You can make raw nuts taste great with seasoning etc. I put a little oil, a little celtic sea salt and some cayenne in a bag with cashews (or any nut) shake them up and yum. That might help!

I think the # 1 tip I can give to newbies is to find a 100% raw smoothie that you love. If worst comes to worst and you get hungry you can always have one of those. Plus...they are an awesome way to start the day.

David,

I agree. There are a ton of studies that show it isnt that great for you. So what? The same thing with cacao? Do I believe them? Probably and I am trying to cut back. Many things can be organic that I wouldn't eat so dont let that fool you.

I have tried all the sweeteners out there. I only use agave now for smoothies and I use very little but what I do use is a ton less that what it would require for me to get the same sweetness with xylitol or stevia
